View Larger Another killer find from yesterday’s Salvation Army dig.
This is why I love digging in [undisclosed location], and NYC generally. People gripe about how picked-over the records are, but you still stumble on gems on a fairly regular basis.
Not only do can you find great records cheaply, but you know some of these have crazy backstories. Like, who is “BEE”? I picture this particular record residing in a crate at the Paradise Garage. Maybe it was distributed through Mancuso’s record pool. The possibilities are endless.
These records have seen things.

Disco Groover from DC-area DB studios. Recent dig highlight.
fire!
a little something from the crates for a frosty wednesday night.
I hit record on Audacity while playing a few 45s this evening. On the fly, no headphones or fancy editing. Some hiccups, but a smooth overall product.
Listen along by clicking here.
Includes: Willie Hutch, Eddie Kendricks, Barbara Mason, MFSB, The Moments, The Intruders, First Choice.
Groovy music for sipping a brandy on a cold sunday afternoon.
Thought I’d repost in case you missed it last night.
